After it's brief run in 1958 and 1959, the Flying V was retired. Upon its reintroduction in 1966,several notable changes were made to the V, including a larger pickguard, triangular knob configuration, shorter peghead, and perhaps most importantly, a mahogany body. Many players and collectors feel that the late 1960's Flying v represents the peak period of production for this model.
